Hideki Sakomizu is a Japanese singer/songwriter who plays a unique blend of acoustic pop.
His music covers a wide range from dreamy pieces to energetic and jazzy compositions.
Even though he sings in Japanese,
people from all over the world can feel his emotions through his voice, melodies and the passion from his heart.
He was in a band called "American Short Hair" from 2004 to 2010.
They toured all over Japan and they were flown to Washington, DC to perform as the featured band at the 2009 Cherry Blossom Festival.
He also played a number of gigs independently in the US.
All these experiences influenced him to start dreaming of becoming
a truly international Japanese musician.
He wasn't content to settle down in the Japanese music scene alone, as its world was too small and restrictive for him.
In 2012, He finally decided to leave Japan and start living in London
in order to study English and try singing to a non-Japanese audience.
In 2013, He started traveling from Europe to realize his dream of performing all over the world
as a singer/songwriter under his own name, Hideki Sakomizu.
He performed at the nowJapan Festival in Lithuania, and the Japan weekend festival in Spain in September 2013.
In 2015, He got mugged in Tanzania, so He went back to Japan to have some rest.
Traveling with music is not as difficult as you think because there are so many nice people everywhere.
He has been able to travel to over 90 countries by singing mainly his original Japanese songs.
Today, He has more freedom than ever before as He's a completely independent musician,
but at the same time He's always looking for like-minded musicians
to play gigs with all over the world who are also in pursuit of their own dreams.
He's living his dream.
2004〜2010年まで
バンド“American Short Hair”として活動。
アメリカ弾き語りツアー、
バンドとして出演したワシントンD.C “桜祭り”を機に、
新たに視野が広がり、アメリカに限らず『世界中に歌いに行く』という夢を抱く。
2012年春、本格的な海外活動をスタート。
最初の一年はロンドンに滞在。
それから約２年半をかけ、５大陸、世界９０数カ国を
主に路上ライブで稼いだお金を資金源として、歌いながら旅を続けた。
2015年9月、アフリカのタンザニアに差し掛かったところで、強盗に遭い帰国。
それでも、ギターと共に無事でいられただけ、むしろ幸運だった。
人生最大のチャレンジだった海外の旅は
困難もあったけれど、感謝や感動に溢れ、自分の歌に変化をもたらしたと思う。
様々な経験をしてきたからこそ歌い、伝えたい想いがある。
世界中の人々に、驚きと笑顔、
そして夢を届けられる喜びを知り
音楽の“人と人とを結ぶチカラ”を実感した旅路。
日本人ミュージシャンである誇りを忘れず、
いろいろな国の音楽要素を取り入れながら、
歌を通じて“日本と世界を結ぶ 架け橋”に成っていきたい。

‐2004年〜2010年‐
バンド『AmericanShortHair』 のギターボーカルとして日本各地でのライブ活動。
アメリカ弾き語りツアー、ワシントンD.C. “桜祭り” に出演。
これを機に、世界中で歌う夢を持つ。
‐2012年‐
ロンドンへの留学を機に、海外での本格的な音楽活動をスタート。
‐2013年‐
『世界中で歌う旅』へ出発。
同年秋、日本人アーティストとして、リトアニアの“nowJapan Festival”
スペインの“Japan weekend Festival” に出演。
‐2015年‐
タンザニアで強盗に遭ったことを機に、
5大陸、90カ国以上歌い歩いた長旅から帰還することを決める。
-2016年-
『“手紙”と“音楽”は世界をつなぐ』をコンセプトに
海外で生まれた歌をまとめた、封筒式アルバム“うたう手紙”を発売。
-2017年-
アルバム完成を機に
前年から始めた４７都道府県ツアー。
各地ラジオ出演。
BSフジ番組“Wake Your Dreams”ゲスト出演。
ライブ、メディアを通し、旅の経験と歌を伝えて回る。
-2018年-
2月フィリピン、6〜7月 アメリカ、カナダを旅。
-2019年-
2月フィジー島
9〜10月 フランス、リトアニア(NowJapan festival 出演)、ラトビア
ハンガリー、オランダにて、初めてのヨーロッパツアーを敢行。
- 2020年 〜 2022年 -
各都道府県でのライブ活動の継続。
5年ぶりのフルアルバム『世界にずっとエンターテインメント』を発売(2021)。

音楽を通じて始まる、縁結びと再会の日々。
合言葉は『グッドラック』
